The Rebel Girl

Just like Elizabeth Gurley Flynn:
sweet with a kick.

Get Started

This recipe comes from my aunt Amy, who is lucky enough to have the Quincy Street Distillery nearby.

Prairie Sunshine is a wildflower honey spirit that's similar to a white rum but distilled from mead (honey wine). If you don't have access to Prarie Sunshine, substitute with your favorite white rum and ½ oz of a floral mixer of your choice. Alternately, you can substitute with a different floral or honey-based clear liquor.

The Rebel Girl

  • 1.5 oz Prairie Sunshine (either original or barrel reserve) from Quincy Street Distillery
  • 1.5 oz maraschino cherry juice
  • 3 splashes/drops orange bitters
  • ginger beer
  • crushed ice

  1. Fill a short glass (preferrably an old fashioned glass) with crushed ice.
  2. Pour the cherry juice over the ice.
  3. Pour the Prairie Sunshine over the ice.
  4. Add three splashes/drops of orange bitters.
  5. Top off with ginger beer.
